Kids just love gummies but when they get their hands on store bought ones you might find yourself cringing at the thought of all the sugar and chemicals they’re taking in. With this recipe you can make a batch of homemade raspberry gummies that are full of real fruit and natural ingredients.
No refined sugars. No artificial colourings or preservatives.
Grab your kids and enjoy making these simple sweets together. They can cut them out into whatever shapes they fancy.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh raspberries (125 grams)
  • 1 cup whole milk (240ml)
  • 5 tablespoons full fat yoghurt (90 grams)
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup (60 grams)
  • 3 x 12 gram packets of gelatin
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Put the milk and raspberries in a medium sized saucepan. Heat the milk until warm and the raspberries begin to ooze juices. Keep an eye on it to make sure that the milk doesn’t froth up and use a low heat setting.
  2. Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Then while still warm, pass the milk and raspberry mixture through a sieve, pressing down to get all the raspberry puree. Spoon around the bottom of the sieve to make sure you get all the raspberry puree.
  3. Stir in the 3 packets of gelatin and mix until dissolved.
  4. Add the yoghurt, maple syrup and vanilla extract, stir until everything is combined.
  5. Pour the mixture into a silicone mould, ice cube tray or onto a baking sheet.
  6. Chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  7. Release the gummy mixture from the moulds or if using a baking sheet cut out fun shapes using a cookie cutter.
  8. Enjoy these delicious homemade sweets.

 

Raspberry gummies – our step by step guide:

 

Warm your milk on a low heat in a saucepan with the raspberries.

Be careful not to let your milk froth up.

Heat it just until the raspberries start to release their juices.

Pass your mixture through a sieve, using a spoon to press the raspberries through.

Remember to scrape the bottom of the sieve with your spoon at the end to make sure you get all that lovely raspberry puree.

Your mixture should be pink in colour.

Add your gelatine and mix in until it has all dissolved.

Then add your yogurt, maple syrup and vanilla extract.

Stir everything until it’s all well combined.

Pour your mixture into a silicone mould/ice cube tray or onto a baking sheet or plate with an edge.

Pop them in the fridge to chill for at least an hour.
