Step 1: Measure out the ingredients

Put 2 cups of cornflour in a bowl

Add ½ – ⅓ of a cup of baby oil or vegetable oil.

A note about the oil: baby oil does make the snow smell wonderful but it is harmful if ingested by young children. Obviously this fake snow should never be eaten but if you worry that your very young child might put some in their mouth then use vegetable oil to be on the safe side.

Step 2: Mix it up to make the snow

Use your hands to combine your mixture.

If it’s too dry add a little more oil, if it’s too sticky add a little more flour.

You are looking for a soft but still quite crumbly mixture that looks like real snow.
